What does getting fit have to do with writing steamy romance?
If you've followed any of my social media, you've seen that most of my recent posts are about my recent fitness journey. I'm calling it "Becoming Morgan Hale".
But what gives? Am I still writing? Am I trying to become a fitness influencer?
I could understand if you're confused, so I'd like to explain.
A few months back, I started to feel a nudge on the inside to focus on my fitness. Part of it was about increasing my energy levels. I work a 9-to-5 right now, and at the end of the day, I found it challenging to have any energy for my writing.
But there was more to it.
Something less practical.
Something more animal.
Something perfect.
Last night, my girlfriend introduced me to the show, Bridgerton. She's not the first woman I've heard talk about this show. But I recognized the energy coming off of her as she spoke. It was the same energy I've felt from women who talked about reading A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas or Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James.
The energy of a woman's erotic imagination awakened.
For me, that energy has become a religion. In my heart, I feel a devotion to it. An awe. A wonder. And a desire to serve that magic for the balance of my life.
I'm hopeful that getting fit means a longer life. More time to perfect the craft of my writing and using my written words in service to that collective consciousness that is a woman's erotic imagination.
Because it does take me time to get them right.
But I also remember the times I've witnessed a woman reacting to the physique of someone like a shirtless Chris Hemsworth.
The times I've witnessed that same steamy imagination awakened.
More and more, I think about energy. About vibration. And about the harmony of like energies.
In my own body, when I feel physically more fit and powerful, my sexual energy gets amplified.
And so I want to welcome that. To channel that.
Because I believe it will flow into my words and my books.
And if it does, then perhaps it will add to the experience of my readers somehow. In some magical way, perhaps it will turn up the volume on that steamy, spicy vibration inside them.
And that is what I want.
More than anything.
To serve that beautiful power with every cell of my being.
So, if you pick up one of my books, and you feel something steamy... something sexy... as you read, thank you.
Thank you for bringing your erotic imagination to dance with the words.
Thank you for vibrating with that magic inside you.
If I can do that for you and others for the rest of my life, then this fitness journey—this Becoming Morgan Hale—will be worth all the sweat, all the reps, all the protein shakes.
So, here's to the steamy imaginations and co-creations we have in our future.
